Thanks!
Thanks go to Rich, NR1CH for putting together this primmer on Fusion and Wires-X .
Next, we have a pictorial view of all the related settings on an HRI-200 wires-X setup, where the PC is connected to an HRI-200 and then directly connected to a DR1-XFR repeater. This configuration works very well. The Computer is a beelink fanless mini PC, and is connected via ethernet to the router.
Radio ID is related to the DMR networks. This is mainly a database of callsigns. DMR, being made for commercial radio, doesn’t support ham radio call signs. Instead, they use a 7 digit number. Right now, if you come in on Fusion without a Radio ID, people on DMR and other parts of the network will see WO1VES as the displayed callsign. Also users on the YSF reflector will also show the wrong call sign. To register a Radio ID, go to radioid.net, click on “Register” in the upper right hand corner, and follow the instructions on screen.
The D-Star network has more strict rules for registration. Many of the reflectors won’t let any transmissions pass if you aren’t registered. As of right now, REF049B is full time linked to the network. And during the New England Wolf Pack Fusion Net, several area D-Star repeaters are linked to that reflector. Without that D-Star registration, none of your transmissions will be heard by stations using those repeaters or operators on the reflector. The best place to register for D-Star in this area is on the WB1GOF D-Star registration page.
